Hey travelers, we deeply, really appreciate you for willing to travel to Bali and celebrate with us. We hope this write up helps make your lives easier. Let me know if you have any questions!

Planning the trip

  • YAAAY! We're SO excited you're coming 💛

    • For folks living in the US — Please book your flights as soon as possible. Flights get expensive pretty quickly! We have a section in this FAQ for guidance on flights. Please check it out!

    • Please also book places to stay. I have a list of recommendations my Dad had made (thanks Dad!)

    • Please double check your passport and make sure it doesn't expire soon.

    • I will reach out to you to double check your info. Let me know when you've booked your flights!

    • Our wedding date is 26 April 2025. That said, we recommend you buy tickets ~4 months in advance and arrive 1-2 days in advance!

    • You'll be flying into I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. It'll say (DPS) on any flight website.

    • The flight will be a bit long. That said, here's a list of airlines we'd recommend:

      • ANA
        Transit in Japan

      • Eva Air
        Transit in Taiwan

      • Cathay Pacific
        Transit in Hong Kong

      • Singapore Airlines
        Transit in Singapore

    • 👋🏻 Please let us know when you've booked your flights!

  • For the hotels, we've surveyed a couple of options for you, ranging from expensive & amazing, to budget-friendly & amazing 😉. Check out the hotels [WIP].

One thing to note on the hotels; don't worry about the distance to the venue. Transport is cheap (unlike Uber).

👋🏻 Please let us know where you are staying!

  • For all non-Indonesian passport holders, you’ll need to purchase VOA, Visa on Arrival, that’s $35. You can get this at the airport—easy peasy. Here’s a random YouTube Reel on it.

You have my/Daniel's/my sister's if you have any questions when you arrive!

‼️ To get a VOA, make sure you:
    1. Have a valid passport with a minimum validity of six months and at least two blank pages.
    2. Keep your return ticket and accommodation proof readily available.
    3. You MIGHT need to pay via cash (Rupiah). I will double check this,

  • TL;DR, Bali, like any other Asian countries, has its perks. Here's what we'd recommend you to do prior to flying out to Bali. All are optional.

    • Bring meds—travelers' diarrhea is real!
We'd recommend you to bring: Imodium, Pepto-bismol,
Don't worry if you don't end up bringing 'em. I'll probably have some to share, or I'll help you get some!

    • Cash is still common in Bali. I can help get cash for you. Feel free to Zelle/PayPal me. Don't worry!

    • (Optional) Get up to date vaccinations. Daniel went and did his vaccinations before going to Bali. Always better to be safe than sorry.

    • Bring bug spray. There's a lot of bugs (i.e mosquitoes) in Bali and they're not shy!

  • If you're interested (and we hope you are!), we highly recommend you using this time to go on holiday too!

There's a lot of amazing places to visit in Bali. We're in the middle of writing up "Things to do in Bali", stay tuned for that. 😆

Getting ready for the trip

  • Major carriers like Verizon and ATT provide cell service to Indonesia for 10 to 12 dollars a day.

You can also buy an Indonesian sim card. This is often cheaper than using your carrier and most phones allow multiple e-sims. We recommend purchasing this prior to landing in Bali.

    • Bali will be warm and humid. Be sure to pack for airy and lighter clothes!

    • Rain jacket or umbrellas. In case.

    • Bali uses two main types of power point: Type C and Type F, which are interchangeable and compatible with European-style devices (which use matching Type C/F plugs). For those coming from countries like Australia, Japan or the US, an adaptor is usually required when using devices in Bali.
Elaine/Daniel has some for you to borrow if you don't have access to any. Just let us know :)
